A door opened

I’ve just finished part one of a 200 hundred hour yoga teacher training. I’m taking it to build a better foundation for my own personal practice and to gain a better understanding of yoga as a spiritual path.

It it has been amazing. Our teacher has come to us from Hawaii. She is unbelievable. Funny, inspiring, insightful, honest and real. Someone to aspire to be like.

she puts a lot of emphasis on aligning body, to alight mind and spirit. We chanted. We learned more about restorative yoga. We read stories about Vishnu and Ganesha. We basked in long days as a group of 24 women all interested in making the world a brighter and more content place.

this has opened a door in me I didn’t know was there. I have started writing poetry. It flows out of me. It is mostly about transformation. Yoga has been such a huge part of my transformation from depression and drinking to function and cope with life, to feeling such deep self love and resilience that I see joy and happiness everyday. In the same life I used to shirk from.

Every day is a gift.

  1. I’m so happy for you! It is so amazing, the wonderful, positive things that come our way when we put down the booze. And our hearts and minds are not clouded up, so we can truly appreciate them with all of our being. Yay!
